Smart Living, sustainability and design go hand in hand at Roca’s ISH2023 stand
13/03/2023
Roca showcases the future of the bathroom at the most important international trade fair for the bathroom sector. Roca presents new collections, product innovations and cutting-edge technology at a stand inspired by the Mediterranean and designed by the Barcelona architecture studio Mesura.
Mesura took inspiration from the work of some of Barcelona’s greatest architects of the mid-20th century, in particular the way these used light and the simplest materials to achieve powerful architectural gestures. Roca's new collections and innovations are displayed around a central courtyard, reminiscent of a typical "plaza", where visitors can gather and interact. Shutters are another essential feature of Mediterranean architecture and play an important role in the design of the stand. Light is filtered through the shutters from the outside creating an intimate atmosphere on the inside and reflecting interesting shadows.
As well as influencing the design of Roca’s stand (hall 3.1, stand 69), Mediterranean simplicity also inspired three other Roca collections presented at ISH2023: Tura, Ona and Nu, which, in the words of Marc Viardot, Corporate Director of Marketing and Design of the Roca Group, "represent the constant development of the Roca brand".
Tura, a collaboration with the Catalan designer Andreu Carulla, is an exclusive bathroom collection with a robust and harmonious design, that combines volume and void and ingeniously reproduces the play of light and shadow. Ona, on the other hand, is a versatile and highly functional bathroom collection that represents the pure essence of the Mediterranean and embodies utmost simplicity through its soft shapes and pure lines.
Nu, a colourful and original collection created by Spanish designer Inma Bermúdez, is added to Roca’s extensive faucets catalogue. The collection features three handle designs, a palette of bright colours and a variety of shapes and sizes leading to a plethora of possibilities to create a personalized bathroom space. The collection also includes options for washbasins, bidets, showers, bathtubs, and the kitchen.
Apart from these three collections, the Roca stand gives visitors the chance to discover the future of the bathroom. In line with its commitment to technology and innovation, Roca is presents two revolutionary proposals at this year’s fair. On the one hand, In-Wash® Insignia, the ultimate smart toilet. Combining the best engineering, design, and technology in a single product, this smart toilet with an elegant design and advanced functions can be customized to the user's taste.
The In-Wash® Insignia toilet can be configured through "Roca Connect", Roca’s IoT service, another innovation that the company is presenting at ISH2023. This digital platform allows for the remote management of bathroom resources, including water consumption, in as many locations as necessary. For In-Wash® Insignia, the platform gives users insights on toilet use and water consumption, and issues notifications and alerts for optimum management of the product.
But this is all that will be presented at ISH2023. Roca knows that a piece of furniture can completely transform the aesthetics of the bathroom and add functionality, order, and practicality. Therefore, the company is presenting five new collections at this edition of ISH. Along with the aforementioned Tura and Ona, the novelties catalogue includes the new Horizon, Tenue and Optica collections, as well as new sizes, dimensions and finishes added to The Gap and Inspira furniture collections.
Successful collaborations with Armani and Ohtake also have a space at Roca’s stand. Armani/Roca showcases a premium bathroom with a holistic design, as found in major international and architectural projects. The late Brazilian architect, Ruy Ohtake’s organically shaped washbasins have also aroused great interest in the world of design and will be displayed at the stand.
